Eating breakfast and studying the word of God.\u00c2\u00a0 Kelsea and I just completed a study together about encouraging yourself in the Lord.<\/p>\n
I am seeing where God is ministering to her and I both.\u00c2\u00a0 She was refilled with the Holy Ghost on Nov 5, 2008 along with others.\u00c2\u00a0 Rev. Charles Robinette, missionary to Austria, was with us.\u00c2\u00a0 We had 10 get the Holy Ghost (others might have but we are wanting to be certain.)\u00c2\u00a0 It was an awesome service.<\/p>\n
We are in a time when we need to pray for our country, our President and President Elect.\u00c2\u00a0 Allow God to have His way.\u00c2\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
God has done some awesome things this week in our Impact Michigan Conference and in our church.\u00c2\u00a0 A mighty harvest is on its way, ripe and ready!<\/p>\n
Okay, study….<\/p>\n
vs. 37\u00c2\u00a0 When they heard the words preached by Peter on the Day of Pentecost, they were pricked in their hearts…<\/p>\n
They asked, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”<\/p>\n
I know of no other direct question and direct answer.\u00c2\u00a0 So many say, “oh, it isn’t important to do that or this, that was for then….\u00c2\u00a0 who gave it a time frame?\u00c2\u00a0 Christ has not returned.\u00c2\u00a0 As far as I know, we are still in the same dispensation as the apostles, therefore we are to do the same as them in order to have salvation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Then Peter said unto them… (The one who was given the keys to the kingdom) “Repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.\u00c2\u00a0 For the promise is unto you and your children and to all those that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”<\/p>\n
Is God still calling?\u00c2\u00a0 If He is still calling, then He is still filling.\u00c2\u00a0 In the book of Acts (which is the History of the Church) when ever someone recieved the Holy Ghost, they received it as a distinct and seperate experience from being baptized.\u00c2\u00a0 And almost always it mentions they spoke in other tongues.\u00c2\u00a0 Also, you cannot find anyone being baptized in any other name except in the name of Jesus.\u00c2\u00a0 (Before the Day of Pentecost, John baptized unto salvation, but after the Day of Pentectost, even those baptized by John were rebaptized in Jesus Name in Acts 19)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
And with many other words did he testify and exhort saying, “Save yourselves from this untoward generation.”<\/p>\n
Wow, so often we stop after vs 39… but vs 40 says to Save “Yourselves”, now we know that it is not by our actions but only through the saving power of Jesus Christ… but this scripture is requiring some action from us… through obedience.\u00c2\u00a0 Are we doing all that we can in obedience to be prepared for the coming of Christ?\u00c2\u00a0 Are we seeing sacrifice as greater?\u00c2\u00a0 No, scriptures states that obedience is greater than sacrifice.\u00c2\u00a0 We must take action and do what is asked of us.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Then they gladly received this word and were baptized and the same day there were added unto the church about 3000 souls.<\/p>\n
They continued steadfastly in the Apostles doctrine and fellowship – and in the reaking of bread and prayer.<\/p>\n
A fear came upon the souls (sense of awe – reverence) wonders and signs were performed through the Apostles.<\/p>\n
All that believed came together and had all things in common…<\/p>\n
We talk so much about our differences, yet this scripture says, all that believed were togther and had all things in common\u00c2\u00a0 :)\u00c2\u00a0 Think about it!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
…sold their possessions and goods and parted them to every man as they have need.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Continuing daily\u00c2\u00a0 with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat with gladness and singleness of heart.<\/p>\n
These people did it willingly (selling and giving)… it wasn’t with a “help those who don’t help themselves” mentality, but rather to preserve a church that was being heavily persecuted and outcast in their society.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Praising God and having favor with all people.\u00c2\u00a0 The Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.\u00c2\u00a0 DAILY!!<\/p>\n
A song comes to mind… In Christ alone, I place my trust and find my glory in the power of the cross.\u00c2\u00a0 In every victory, let it be said of me, my source of strength, my source of hope is Christ alone.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
