Peace Guards our Hearts & Minds

Today, as I was studying the word of God.  I read a passage that I was familiar with but God did that thing He always loves to do… He opened my eyes to see His Truth.

Phil 4:7 says in KJV, “7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Phil 4:7 says in Amplified, “And God’s peace [shall be yours, that [c]tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall [d]garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”

Phil 4:7 says in NIV, “7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Phil 4:7 says in NKJV, “7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

🙂 We need the peace of GOD in our lives in order to have our hearts and mind guarded through Christ Jesus.  I have watched over time as people have been fed a substitute “peace” through practicing “opening their mind” while exercising.  That type of “peace” isn’t REAL or LASTING.  It is a substitute for the REAL and  LASTING!  It opens your mind and heart to evil in the spiritual realm… which sounds very similar to what the serpent deceived Eve with in the Garden.

Genesis 2:15-17,  “15 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

Genesis 3:1-6, “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LordGod had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”

What do I want to follow… a serpent?  Do I want to follow the instruction of the world on how to obtain “Peace”?  Or do I want to listen to my Lord and Savior’s words, that He made accessible for me… that holds His wisdom and His plans for my life?  The answer to TRUE PEACE, is found in Phil 4:8-9.

“8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.  9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”

The path to True Peace is found in His Word!  It is real, it truly does transcend all understanding!   It opens you up to good in the spiritual realm. Why not try HIM instead of the idea’s or suggestions of the world!
